portland, or || may 2013

May was exciting – I finished my freshman year of college & moved home for the summer, and a week later, I flew out to Portland, Oregon for a week. Two of my best friends from school, Andrew and Gillian, live in Portland, and Gillian’s family was generous enough to house and feed me for [...]

portraits || early 2013

This semester, I focused in my darkroom class mainly on shooting portraits (both others and myself). Shot on my Yashica Mat EM and a mixture of Fuji Acros 100 and Kodak Tri-X 400 (expired). (As [...]

In March, the lovely Lexi Mire came to NYC and organized a Flickr meetup! Miscellaneous photographs from November and December, prior to winter break. Minolta SRT-100 + Ilford Delta 100, my favorite film to date (and the ugliest when scanned straight from the negative). Gillian’s first snowstorm. Sam, during the first snowfall of the season I’m off to scan darkroom prints! Excited to finally show everyone what I’ve been [...]

Some diptychs made with my half frame camera, spanning the beginning of the semester (September 2012) up until the day I left home to come back to school after winter break (January 2013). Canon Demi EE17 + Kodak Portra 400.

bella in the studio

Way back at the beginning of the December, Andrew reserved a studio to shoot his final project for digital cinema, a pop art cooking show. We ended up finishing the film within a few hours but still had the studio and the lights so we messed around! It was fun shooting in the studio. These [...]

familiar colors

The first day I came home for winter break I walked down to the beach with my newly-fixed RB67 and felt overwhelmed by the familiarity of the colors of a foggy day, the subtle grays and browns.

autumn in central park

A few shots from a day I spent alone, wandering through Central Park and lying down on one of the big rocks and reading a book.
