the (new) white dress, part i

During my 365, for a good three months, I took self portraits in a white dress. It was the dress I wore for my eighth grade graduation (four years ago, now) and when I started my 365 I only owned a handful of dresses, so that dress became my go-to dress for self portraits. One of the straps snapped while I was rolling around in a puddle, and that was the end of the white dress.

I’ve finally bought another white dress to replace that one, and the summertime self portraits have begun.

Welcome to my bed, which has only been shared in bits and pieces on here – normally it is covered in a giant heap of blankets and pillows but I pushed them all aside. My windowsill is lined with seashells from LBI, there are two maps hung on the slanted ceiling walls above my bed, cranes hastily hung (I never really got into cranes and they were too much of a pain to hang so there are only three), old projects from freshman and sophomore year hung above the windows. I love my bed, I can only hope to recreate something so perfect in my dorm room. I bought a bag of postcards at work yesterday (the previous owner, I’ve determined, lived in Manhattan in 2002) and already chose which ones to hang on my dorm room wall. I am getting to the point where I can almost accept that I am graduating in four days.

I tried slightly warmer processing on these, a la the beginning of  my 365, and I am pleased :)

Happy Sunday!
