For my digital photography class, I had to present a series of photographs showing how we affect our environment. I chose two abandoned/empty places to present; I wanted to show two locales that I’ve previously seen in operation. For this series, I really wanted to show how quickly humans can turn over a space and make it their own and how desperately nature will try to take it back – and ultimately fail. One of the locales closed in 2002, the other in the past four or five years. In ten and five years, respectively, the earth has attempted to claim back what it once owned. One location is for sale, the other slated to be turned into housing.
